Welcome to Raíz + Ruta, a collection of musings, stories, and experiences that have shaped the way I see the world. It is about the memories I carry, the lessons I have learned, the places that have formed me, and the passions that continue to pull me closer to who I am becoming.

Here, I write as a way of slowing down and paying attention. To revisit the ordinary moments that quietly became meaningful, to preserve pieces of my family and Peruvian heritage, and to explore the things that bring me joy –– from coffee and its culture to health, exercise, and the endless pursuit of self-understanding.

My name is Alberto. I was born in Arequipa, Peru, and moved to California at age seven. Since then, I have lived between languages, cultures, and two ways of seeing the world. Because I think and feel in both, posts here are generally going to be written in English and Spanish.
