I've always been drawn to the things that linger. A story told around the dinner table. The taste of something that reminds you of home. A lesson that takes years to understand. A song, a place, a conversation, a morning that seemed ordinary until time revealed it wasn’t.​​

My name is Alberto. I was born in Arequipa, Peru, and moved to California at age seven. Growing up between two languages and cultures gave me more than one way of looking at the world, and perhaps that is why I’ve always been curious about the things that shape us. Family and heritage. Coffee and its culture. Exercise, psychology, and the endless pursuit of self-understanding.

Raíz + Ruta is my place to collect those things. To slow down and pay attention to what might otherwise go unnoticed. To preserve pieces of where I come from, make sense of what I’ve learned, and follow the passions that make life expansive and worth exploring.​​
